Amritsar Heritage Tour
The Amritsar heritage tour is meant for travellers with a deep interest in history, culture, and spirituality, and for those who want to explore the places they visit in detail rather than just see and click photos. For most tourists, Amritsar is limited to the Golden Temple or the Wagah Border ceremony. However, Amritsar is a historic city rich in traditions, culture, and stories that most people don’t know about.
The city is blessed with numerous temples, gurudwaras, historic monuments, and bustling bazaars developed by different rulers and spiritual leaders from ancient times to the 18th century. One of the most important, yet lesser-known landmarks is the Gobindgarh Fort, built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the heart of the city. Constructed of red sandstone, the fort reflects Sikh and Mughal-style architecture and houses a museum displaying royal artifacts. Many historians consider it an important example of the region’s cultural heritage and a symbol of Amritsar’s royal past.
